This week was pretty good some ups and downs but more ups. When Kolton left that was pretty rough. I sent a letter on that that you should be getting soon. It was a very cool experience though. Mom to answer all your question:
I am doing good i will explain more in the email.
2.Is it weird now that Kolton has left to Naga?
Yes it is weird Kolton left he was the only super close person i had here. I am getting closer to my district everyday and that will be sad because to answer #6 no one in my district is going to Quezon which sucks but it is alright i will meet new people to become close to.
3.Did you get a package from us yesterday? Are we sending too much junk? I take requests...ideas are much appreciated. ;)
Yes i got the package not too much junk just enough but i dont need anymore for till i leave lets just say that (; But you could hook me up with some Mountain Dew and i would be fine with that
4.Have you heard from any of your friends that have not left yet? Did Brandon get his mission call yet?
I havent heard from them yet. That is my fault i havent written them once yet i will though soon
5.Did you get the cupcakes, Bri sent you from all of us?
yes i did they were so Delicious they are also gone haha. Thank you all so much.
6. Is there anyone in your district that is going to your mission?
So the experience with Elder savage was awesome so i will let you all just read the letter just make sure to photo copy it send it to people if they want to see it (friends and anyone else you guys would like to share it with). But the next super cool experience was when Neil L Anderson came and spoke on our tuesday night devotional. He told us a super cool story of how one of his missionaries while he was a mission President in France. The missionaries dad was not a member and when he got out Anderson asked him what he would want most in his life and the Elder said my dad to get baptized. his dad was in the military and was a tough guy. When he left on his mission his dad started reading the book of mormon and slowly before his son came home he got baptized. I just thought it was very cool. The rest of his lesson was on Love and Sacrifice and if any of us missionaries feel like a mission is unfair and we gave up so much, that none of those things we gave up are ours everything is from our heavenly father. The only thing we have is our love. It is hard but it is true so the best thing we can do when we give something up for our heavenly father is have faith and trust it will all be okay. After the talk it was pouring rain outside and we had to walk from the byu stadium to the mtc in our suits and it was so fun and it was almost stress revealing to actually feel some weather instead of being stuck in a building all day. I sent pics of that. Elder Burbidge and i had to do a 30 minute lesson yesterday in Tagalog with no notes...it was stressful and scary. But we did it and we did great we weren't talking super fast or with perfect sentence structure but we got our message down with the spirits help of course. I remembered a whole line that i couldnt get down once before the lesson but after the prayer BOOM got it! It was awesome we talked about our life purpose on earth and the atonement. We got him to pray kneeling down (yeah he is a fake investigator but it still was awesome) .
Dad that is so awesome that you are getting into shape in effort at all will make me proud so yeah you are making me proud. Just dont stop it only gets easier after you see results. I cant wait to see those results as well i am expecting them so keep it up! Sun Valley sounds like it will be fun either way, thats exciting with the remodel. Lake powell also sounds super fun just pray about it and now that missionary families are blessed, but still take precaution. Nick and Morgan it has been taking me forever but i am going to send the letter today so just be waiting. Mom i didnt know this for a bit but i thought i would teach you. Mahal ko kayo is i love you (everyone im talking to) i love you to just one person is Mahal Kita. Overall a great week Tagalog without notes gave me some needed confidence i was struggling before that.
I will write some more letters soon.
MAHAL KO KAYO
Love, Elder Salisbury
